Aurora Central couldn’t quite keep up with a potent Gateway squad, losing by a score of 51-0 on Friday at Aurora Public Schools Stadium, Football Field.
Erick Covington led Gateway’s passing attack with 153 yards through the air, tossing two touchdowns and one interception. Covington also added 94 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. Antwuan Smith lead all Gateway receivers with two catches for 68 yards and one score.
Rj Webster spearheaded the Gateway rushing attack by finishing with 102 yards and one touchdown in the game, averaging 17 yards per carry.
Gateway will stay home and play Ponderosa, while Aurora Central will travel to play Heritage.
