Palmer couldn’t quite keep up with a potent Mesa Ridge squad, losing by a score of 48-13 on Friday at Garry Berry, Stadium.
Kyle Gaster led Mesa Ridge’s passing attack with 112 yards through the air, tossing one touchdown and one interception. Gaster also added 104 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Mesa Ridge’s leading receiver was Andres Esquivel, who caught one pass for 58 yards and one score.
In addition to Gaster’s effort, Arthur Campbell lead the Mesa Ridgerushing game by racking up 79 yards in the contest, averaging 11.3 yards per carry. Niko Allgood contributed 61 yards , averaging 15.2 yards per carry.
Both teams will go on the road in their next contest, with Mesa Ridge heading to play Pine Creek and Palmer taking on Grand Junction Central.
