The Elk fire, burning in Larimer County in the Red Feather Lakes area, is 100% contained, according to the sheriff’s office.

The fire, which has burned more than 600 acres, caused evacuations this week in the Glacier View subdivisions.

The wildfire started Wednesday as a prescribed burn near the Ben Delatour Scout Ranch.

Weather in the Red Feather Lakes area is expected to be sunny and breezy on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service, with a chance of snow Saturday night through Monday morning. New snow accumulations, however, should be minimal, according to the weather service.
