California-based — and cult-followed — In-N-Out Burger this week in Fort Collins. The third proposed In-N-Out for the state would sling burgers from 1700 S. College Ave., near Colorado State University and just south of Fort Collins’ Old Town.

In-N-Out’s proposal, which doesn’t currently include a timeline, includes razing an existing structure to build a 3,800-square-foot drive-thru restaurant with outdoor seating and 54 parking spaces. The location sits one block south of Prospect Road, in a less pedestrian neighborhood that still includes local bars and restaurants.
The fast-food chain will open its first Colorado In-N-Out next year in Colorado Springs, along with offices and a regional distribution center that could support up to 50 locations across the state.
In August, The Denver Post reported that another In-N-Out site plan had been submitted to the city of Lone Tree for development in the Park Meadows mall area.
