Springfield easily handled Las Animas by a score of 64-14 on Saturday, Oct. 19.

Springfield quarterback Luke Hutches led the passing attack with 171 yards through the air, throwing three touchdowns with no interceptions. Hutches also added 159 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.

Springfield’s ground game was spearheaded by Hayden Lasley who ran for 229 yards and two touchdowns in the game, averaging 11.4 yards per carry. Lasley also tacked on 116 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Markus Vigil led Las Animas’ passing attack with 63 yards through the air, tossing one touchdown and two interception. Vigil’s most relied on target in the game was Miles Rader, who caught two passes for 52 yards and one score.

Dayton Morlan spearheaded the Las Animas rushing attack by gaining 68 yards in the game, averaging 4 yards per carry.

Las Animas will stay home and play Simla, while Springfield will travel to play Fowler.
