Roads were closed for several Thursday morning in the area of the 3600 block of East Dartmouth Avenue because of a water line break.

Denver police officers assisted crews working to repair the main break, officials said on Twitter.

The water main is a 12-inch cast-iron line, Denver Water spokesman Todd Hartman said. Crews responded to the break just before 8 a.m.

Water was shut off for six homes in the area, Hartman said.
