U.S. 6 has reopened between Colorado 119 and 58 after crews conducted emergency rock removal and a vehicle recovery, Colorado State Patrol tweeted.
The rock removal and vehicle operation were unrelated, CDOT spokesman Bob Wilson said.
Crews were removing loose rock in the canyon when they discovered the car in the creek, he said. It is unclear if there was anyone in the vehicle.
US 6 is back open. It didn’t take much longer to recover the car in the creek than it did to move the rockslide debris, so the total closure was relatively brief. Thanks to Allied Towing and their monster wrecker and for traffic control!
