Players to watch
QB Baker Mayfield: The reeling Browns have lost three consecutive games, albeit to San Francisco (7-0), Seattle (6-2) and New England (8-0), and Mayfield has six interceptions during the stretch. For the year, his 12 interceptions are tied with Tampa Bay’s Jameis Winston for the league lead and his 67.8 passer rating is 31st.
DE Myles Garrett: His 10 sacks are tied for the league lead with Tampa Bay’s Shaq Barrett and his 13 total quarterback hits are tied for fifth. The top pick in the 2017 draft, Garrett has at least one sack in six of the Browns’ seven games. He has six penalties, including three in the Week 2 win over the Jets.
WR Odell Beckham: Acquired from the New York Giants in the offseason, Beckham hasn’t made the expected impact. His 34 catches and 488 yards rank 33rd and 23rd, respectively in the NFL. Beckham had 19 catches in the first three games, but only 15 in the last four.
RB Nick Chubb: His 738 rushing yards are third in the league behind Minnesota’s Dalvin Cook (823) and Jacksonville’s Leonard Fournette (791), both of whom have played in one more game. Chubb has reached 100 yards in three of the last four games, including 165 in the Week 4 win at Baltimore. He fumbled twice on Sunday against New England.
LB Joe Schobert: Is the Browns’ leading tackler with 73 (fourth in the NFL) — 32 more than the next-closest teammate. Schobert has four games of at least 11 tackles and has played all 485 defensive snaps. In 2017, he made the Pro Bowl after making 142 tackles and playing all 1,068 snaps.
