Starting Friday, some Castle Rock drivers will have to detour to allow crews to improve the on-ramp from westbound Meadows Parkway to northbound Interstate 25, according to a news release from the Department of Transportation.
Crews are installing a ramp metering system that will force the shutdown from midnight Friday until 9 a.m. Saturday, the news release said. There will be a 1.9 mile detour to northbound I-25 that will take drivers along Factory Shops Boulevard and Promenade Parkway. CDOT expects this will add six minutes to travel time.
The construction might be an inconvenience now, but this is part of CDOT ramping up efforts to reduce congestion by forcing breaks between merging vehicles, according to the news release.
