Don’t look now, but Indianapolis has fallen hard for Chad Kelly.

During the Colts’ 16-12 loss to the lowly Miami Dolphins, things got so bad the crowd at Lucas Oil Stadium started begging for the former Broncos backup quarterback.

Their chant of choice? “We want Chad! We want Chad!” according to a .

Granted they were watching some truly awful quarterbacking. Brian Hoyer, who replaced an injured Jacoby Brissett this week, had gone 6-for-18 passing with two picks at the time, the Star reported. Hoyer finished the game 18-of-39 for 204 yards, a touchdown and three interceptions.

Lest we forget, Kelly is no stranger to fans chanting his name.

Remember it Broncos fans? It was an early August day in 2018. The then-Broncos Stadium crowd had just sat through an uninspiring performance from former first-round pick Paxton Lynch. And in strode Kelly, the former Mr. Irrelevant, making his debut appearance for the Orange and Blue. Sure it was only preseason, but Kelly engineered a five-play 75-yard touchdown drive.

And that’s when it happened.

KEL-LY! KEL-LY! KEL-LY!” The chants reverberated.

Fast-forward two months, boos were raining down on Broncos QB Case Keenum amid a slow first half against the Rams. Then the Broncos Stadium crowd erupted in cheers as Kelly trotted out to take a kneel-down to end the first half. To date, it’s Kelly’s only appearance in an NFL regular-season game. His Broncos career was soon cut short after a Halloween party gone awry.

How will this new chapter end? Don’t leave us hanging, Chad.
