After more than 1,500 customers lined up around the block for a bake sale benefiting Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains last summer, a group of Denver restaurants will hold another on Saturday, Dec. 7.

Safta, the Israeli restaurant at The Source Hotel, will host the event together with Reunion Bread Co, Acorn, Oak, Brider, Moxie Bread Company, Dio Mio, Blackbelly, Annette, Beast + Bottle, Work & Class, Tag restaurants and more local purveyors.

Most of their baked goods will cost $5, and any other large items. All proceeds from the sale will go to Planned Parenthood, which will have representatives onsite to accept additional donations.

Back in June, following several states’ moves to restrict abortions — Alabama among them — a group of around 20 Denver restaurants teamed up to raise money for the nonprofit sexual health organization. They raised $25,000 in just four hours.

“It was a moment of tremendous empowerment for all who were there,” Theo Adley, then the executive chef at The Populist and the fundraiser’s organizer, said. “This was a demonstration of solidarity from the Colorado hospitality industry’s support of women’s rights, reproductive rights and fundamental human rights.”

Safta’s bake sale will coincide with a holiday market on Dec. 7 and 8 at The Source Market Hall.

Bake sale: 3330 Brighton Blvd., 720-408-2444, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7,
