High wind prompted the closure of northbound Interstate 25 at Wellington south of the Wyoming border on Wednesday morning, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
U.S. 85 northbound is also closed at the state line heading into Wyoming because of high winds and adverse road conditions in Wyoming, CDOT said.
The closures were announced around 11 a.m. with no word of reopening.
High Wind Warning now in effect for areas along and west of I-25 below 6000 ft in Larimer County until 5 pm this evening. Winds from 35 to 50 mph with gusts to 80 mph is possible. Travel for high profile vehicles will be difficult.
