Sunny skies are ahead for the Denver region Sunday, with calm winds becoming a bit more gusty in the evening and overnight.

Wind gusts in Denver could top 28 mph Sunday night, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder, but the daylight hours shouldn’t see wind much faster than 5 mph.

Sunshine is expected Sunday with temperatures in the high 40s, and much of the same weather is expected Monday, with highs in the low 40s.

Those in the mountains can look for some snow and wind Sunday and Monday, with snowfall most anticipated in Rabbit Ears Pass and the Park and Gore ranges, according to the weather service.

Wind gusts in the mountains are expected to be about 50 mph, according to the service.
