Starting Friday afternoon, Denver-area commuters finally will get advance notice if scheduled light rail trips will be canceled.
The Regional Transportation District announced Thursday that it will post canceled trips on . Riders can also opt for route-specific email alerts that are sent out at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Monday and Wednesday, which detail which trips in the days to follow are expected to be canceled.
Last-minute cancellations also will be sent out in daily email alerts.
The move comes after a months-long driver shortage during which RTD has said it had no choice but to cancel light rail trips without informing riders, throwing a wrench in many commutes. RTD officials hope this change will allow riders to better plan their commute.
