The Mets outfield prospect — and former Broncos starting quarterback — is wearing No. 85 during spring training after Carlos Beltran took No. 15 after joining New York as its manager, . Beltran left the team in January during the fallout of the scandal, but the Mets didn’t reissue the number.
“I like No. 15 a lot,” , “but I totally get it.”
Tebow, 32, is in his fifth season with the Mets farm system. He batted .163 last season in Triple-A Syracuse with four home runs and 19 RBIs.
