A homeowner working on a furnace in a Jefferson County residence was burned Tuesday night in a flash fire and taken to a local hospital.
Our crews tonight on a fire in the 1100 blk of S. Pierson Ct. where a homeowner was seriously injured. He was working on a gas furnace when the gas ignited, causing a flash fire. He was taken to the hospital. The fire caused moderate damage on 1st floor, smoke damage throughout.

The incident happened in the 1100 block of South Pierson Court, according to the West Metro Fire Rescue. The man suffered serious injuries.
The house sustained moderate damage, including smoke damage throughout the residence.
