Lower Highland food hall is the first major food business in Denver to close temporarily during the coronavirus outbreak.
Avanti is closed starting at 4 p.m. Friday through Sunday, and its owners will reassess the situation on Monday, according to a press release.
“To be clear, none of our staff has fallen ill with the virus,” Patrick O’Neill, managing partner, said in the release. “This decision is based on the severity of the situation and a feeling of obligation to do what we can for our community.”

During the three-day closure, O’Neill said that a professional sanitation company would be disinfecting the two-floor space and its outdoor areas. Employees will continue to be paid during the closure.
Avanti is home to three bars and seven food stalls and can fit more than 600 people. Stall operators will have the option to remain open over the weekend, but serving only delivery orders.
“These deliveries will be received curbside to maintain our sanitation protocols,” O’Neill said.
