A presumptive positive case of coronavirus has been identified in Jeffco Public Schools in Conifer High School.
Students families and staff were notified Monday night of the development by Jeffco Public Health.
“We are reaching out because there has been a presumptive positive case of COVID-19 within the Conifer High School system,” JPH wrote in a statement to Conifer High School families. “This means your child may have been exposed to a positive case of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).”
The health department advised families to watch for symptoms and to consult the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website for guidelines over the next 14 days.
Should the county health department determine that a student has been in close, direct contact with the person who tested positive, the student’s family will be directly notified.
The school, grades 9 thought 12 with more than 800 students, is currently closed, as is the district, because of coronavirus concerns.
