Tickets for “Hamilton” at DCPA going on sale next week despite coronavirus

The Tony-winning Broadway musical is scheduled to play Denver Aug. 12-Oct. 4

Denver Center for the Performing Arts on Wednesday released on-sale details for “Hamilton” tickets in a bet that the national tour of the Tony-winning Broadway musical will go on as planned this year.

The show is scheduled to play the Buell Theatre at the Denver Performing Arts Complex Aug. 12-Oct. 4. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 20, via .

Tickets for the show are only on sale digitally, DCPA said in a Wednesday press release that made no mention of the coronavirus pandemic.

“There is a maximum purchase limit of eight tickets per account for the engagement,” officials said in a press statement. “When tickets go on sale, prices will range from $69 to $169 with a select number of $299 premium seats available for all performances. There will also be a lottery for a limited number of $10 seats for all performances. Lottery details will be announced closer to the engagement.”

“Hamilton,” which appears as an “added attraction” on DCPA’s subscription series, is the only show listed on its calendar through August. The nonprofit organization last week , including this summer “Book of Mormon” tour, following  the week prior.

DCPA is , but buyers must request them specifically, or else the money stays in a virtual DCPA account (where it can then be applied to later purchases or donated).

The Denver Performing Arts Complex, which also hosts performances by the Colorado Symphony, Colorado Ballet, Opera Colorado and others, has been near-silent since state and city officials instituted stay-at-home orders last month.
