Ten miles of trails makes Oakwood’s master planned Reunion a perfect place to stay home and gets better as lock-down eases

One consequence of the Coronavirus emergency is that Coloradans are getting a much clearer picture of how well suited their neighborhoods are for outdoor living. The trails and parks that allow for socially-distanced outings are very evident at master-planned Reunion, near DIA.

Reunion already had one of the metro area’s largest complements of parks and amenities when Oakwood Homes took over as its master developer last year. Now visitors to the community’s three builders see a 52-acre park and 10 miles of trails in place, while Oakwood is underway creating lots of additional amenities close to its newest neighborhoods.

Thatap one reason Reunion has seen steady sales right through April, now one month into the statewide shutdown. “It felt like a slowdown at first but then sales started picking up,” says Ryan Delp, regional sales manager for Oakwood. Oakwood’s four communities, including a new neighborhood of “Sterling Duet” paired homes, have had ten sales over the month, while Shea Homes is near sellout on its SPACES collection models at Reunion.

Richmond American Homes is already two-thirds of the way through its sites for a sharp looking series of patio ranches with 3-car garages, on the back-nine of Buffalo Run Golf Course (the course reopens Monday, April 27. Priced from the low $500s, the builder is including a free basement finish on those remaining, if you move on one now.

Sales reps there and for other builders report lots of people out using the trails through the crisis and picking up coffee at Reunion’s showplace coffee house overlooking the lakes in Reunion Park. Reunion Coffee House is open for “call-n-curb” service during the emergency, Tuesdays through Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Builders are making sales activity happen through special sales measures designed around the stay-at-home order. They are open for appointments only, while providing lots of options to experience the community virtually.

That includes Shea Homes with a Plan 3507 single-family design thatap the last of its SPACES single-family series at Reunion with four bedrooms, three baths, almost 2,100 square feet of finished space, at $412,290.  Itap set for late fall delivery but you can tour the plan now, virtually. Shea will put its SPACES show homes on the market early next month.

Meanwhile, Oakwood has numbers of ways to put the amenities within easy reach at very low prices. The new collection of paired homes starts from the high $200s, while popular Carriage House low-maintenance single-family homes are from the $340s and new Meridian and Horizon designs are from the $300s and $400s. You’ll also find a luxurious Oxford ranch, ready now in the low $600s, in Oakwood’s “Overlook” neighborhood beside the golf course.

And you’ll see work continuing on a second large pool complex nearing completion in Reunion’s South Lawn neighborhood. Also, to the east on Reunion Center, residents will have a STEAD school, events center, ice pavilion, a baseball complex, a market and food hall and a putting course.  To drive through, from the DIA freeway exit at Tower Road (or E-470), head north to 104th, then west to Reunion Pkwy and north. Or from Thornton, take 104th east past U.S. 85 to Reunion Pkwy.
