Officials with the Northern Colorado Drug Task Force arrested six people and seized methamphetamine, heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms, pot, counterfeit currency, handguns and a stolen semi-automatic rifle this week as part of a drug-trafficking bust in Larimer County.

The investigation, which began last fall and was dubbed Operation La Familia, focused on several career criminals with histories of illegal narcotics distribution, authorities said. The arrests happened Tuesday but weren’t announced until Wednesday.

Warrants were served at several residences in Fort Collins and Wellington on Tuesday. In addition to the drugs seized, officers also found a firearm with a missing serial number and narcotics distribution equipment.

Authorities said the case is ongoing and that additional arrests are anticipated.
