
The Broncos are starting to get their 10-person draft class under contract just days before rookies are scheduled to report to the team facility for COVID-19 testing.
Here is a tracker of the activities:
Wednesday
*Third-round defensive end McTelvin Agim agreed to terms with the Broncos, a source confirmed.
Agim’s deal is projected to be worth $4,533,988 over four years with $857,270 as a signing bonus and a 2020 cap number of $824,317.
Agim was selected No. 95 overall, the Broncos’ third pick of the third round after cornerback Michael Ojemudia and center Lloyd Cushenberry.
Agim had 148 tackles and 14 1/2 sacks in 49 games (40 starts) for Arkansas.
When the Broncos enter camp, Agim will vie for playing time behind starters Jurrell Casey and Shelby Harris.
*Seventh-round outside linebacker Derrek Tuszka and the Broncos agreed to terms on a four-year contract.
The Broncos’ final selection (No. 254 overall, used with a compensatory pick), Tuszka’s contract will be worth $3,370,490 ($75,490 signing bonus) and carry a 2020 cap number of $628,872.
The 24-year-old will move from defensive end at North Dakota State to outside linebacker for the Broncos. He will compete with Malik Reed and Justin Hollins for a roster spot behind Bradley Chubb, Von Miller and Jeremiah Attaochu.
Tuszka (6-5/246) totaled 133 tackles and 29 1/2 sacks for NDSU.
*Fourth-round tight end Albert Okwuegbunam agreed to terms with the Broncos on a four-year contract.
Drafted No. 118 overall, Okwuegbunam’s contract is slotted at $4,044,042 ($749,042 signing bonus) and a 2020 cap hit of $797,260.
Listed at 6-foot-5 and 258 pounds, Okwuegbunam played 33 games for Missouri (24 starts), catching 98 passes for 1,187 yards and 23 touchdowns. He left the Tigers’ program after his fourth-year junior season.
Okwuegbunam played 2017-18 with current Broncos quarterback Drew Lock, catching 17 touchdown passes.
On the Broncos, Okwuegbunam could end up being the No. 3 tight end behind Noah Fant and Nick Vannett (Andrew Beck is a hybrid fullback-tight end).
Tuesday
Broncos cornerback Michael Ojemudia on Tuesday became the first of the team’s 10 draft picks to agree to contract terms.
According to Spotrac, Ojemudia’s slotted value is $4,751,392 over four years with a $1,015,559 signing bonus and a salary cap figure this year of $863,890.
Unsigned are receiver Jerry Jeudy (first round), receiver KJ Hamler (second), center Lloyd Cushenberry (third), defensive lineman McTelvin Agim (third), linebacker Justin Strnad (fifth), guard Netane Muti (sixth) and receiver Tyrie Cleveland (seventh).
Ojemudia, 22, was selected 77th overall after playing in 51 games (22 starts) for Iowa, posting 125 tackles and six interceptions. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Ojemudia will get a chance to compete for the Broncos’ No. 3 cornerback spot behind A.J. Bouye and Bryce Callahan.
While the Broncos are just now getting started on their draft class, Atlanta, Buffalo, Cleveland, Green Bay, Houston, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Kansas City, New England and Philadelphia have signed all of their picks.
