Denver weather: Sunshine followed by a chance of evening thunderstorms Monday

Mostly sunny skies will give the area a high temperature around 85 degrees

The Denver area will see sunshine and temperatures in the mid-80s Monday with a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.

Mostly sunny skies will give the area a high temperature around 85 degrees, and there’s a 10% chance of thunderstorms after 4 p.m. and again after 9 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Tuesday will be stormier, with an 80% chance of rain and expected widespread thunderstorms across the foothills and Front Range. Tuesday will see gusty winds and heavy rain, according to the weather service.

The weather will start to clear Wednesday and through the rest of the week.
