After seeing that lineup last week in which the Nuggets put out three 7-footers on the floor, it seems like Denver has a logical move to make in the NBA draft: Get. Bigger.
At least that’s what it seems like with the , who has the Nuggets selecting Washington forward Isaiah Stewart with the No. 21 overall pick.
The 6-foot-9, 250-pound Stewart averaged 17 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.1 blocks last season as a freshman for the Huskies.
“Despite his throwback style of play, Isaiah Stewart has a new-age impact on winning as an energizing big who can block shots, finish around the rim and score it efficiently,” Boone writes. “As a freshman at UW last season he ranked third among all Pac-12 players in Player Efficiency Rating (PER), and led the league in total rebounds. He’s shown some touch as a shooter, too, and potentially with development could become a floor-spacer.”
