Some apartments in Douglas County near Interstate 25 and the Castle Pines interchange were evacuated Wednesday afternoon because of a nearby grass fire.
Crews working grass fire south of Castle Pines Pkwy and west of I-25, approximately an acre and a half. They were able to stop the fire before it reached the apartment complex. Fire has been marked under-control. No injuries. Cause under investigation.

South Metro Fire and Rescue responded to the fire and evacuated units, as a safety precaution, west of the highway and south of Castle Pines Parkway.
The fire grew to more than an acre before firefighters put it out. It did not reach the apartment complex. There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
