With two games left for Denver in the truncated 2020 NBA season, there’s plenty at stake for the Nuggets in terms where they will be seeded and who they might face in the playoffs. Here’s a look at the scenarios:
Seeding
The Nuggets get the No. 2 seed if:
- Denver beats the Clippers and the Raptors AND
The Clippers lose their final two games
The Nuggets get the No. 3 seed if:
- Denver beats the Clippers and the Raptors AND
The Clippers win against Oklahoma City
OR
- Denver loses to the Clippers and beats the Raptors
The Nuggets get the No. 4 seed if:
- Denver loses both games AND
The Rockets win their remaining two games
Their opponent in the playoffs
If the Nuggets are the No. 2 seed:
- Dallas:
The Mavericks clinched the No. 7 seed with Tuesday’s loss to Portland
If the Nuggets are the No. 3 seed:
- Utah:
If the Jazz wins AND the Thunder wins at least one game OR
The Jazz loses AND the Thunder wins at least one game - Oklahoma City:
The Thunder loses its final two games AND the Jazz wins
If the Nuggets are the No. 4 seed:
- Oklahoma City:
If the Thunder beats Miami and/or the Clippers OR
The Thunder loses its final two games AND Utah loses - Utah:
If the Jazz wins its final game AND Oklahoma City loses its final two games
