If you weren’t already excited for the upcoming ski season, you should be now: Arapahoe Basin began snowmaking operations this weekend.

“Last night the temperatures were perfect for snowmaking and we started making snow,” COO Alan Henceroth . “You guys know what that means, we are just that much closer to ski season.”

Powder days will look a bit different this year, with some resorts  due to the coronavirus pandemic. Arapahoe Basin currently has , but passes will be limited and single-day lift tickets will need to be purchased in advance online.

As of right now, A-Basin plans to . Last year, just after Keystone announced its plans to be the first North American ski area to open for the 2020-21 season on Oct. 12, and opened at 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 11.
