The crash happened at about 8:15 a.m. near Jubilee Trail, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
One person, a 46-year-old man, was taken by helicopter to St. Anthony Hospital Central in Lakewood. Another person, a 24-year-old man, was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, said Trooper Josh Lewis, a Colorado State Patrol spokesman.
The driver of one vehicle was heading north and crossed into oncoming southbound traffic, said Jenny Fulton, a sheriff’s office spokeswoman.
That caused a head-on collision and a third vehicle was also involved, Fulton said.
One vehicle caught fire in the wreckage. The highway reopened at about 11:55 a.m., according to the sheriff’s office.
