Two women injured in Lakewood carjacking taken to hospital

Two women, victims of a carjacking, were injured Monday afternoon in Lakewood when the fleeing carjacker ran them over, police said.

The incident happened at about 12:45 p.m. in the 400 block of Benton Street, according to a news release.

The women, ages 88 and 76, were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Police describe the carjacker as a Hispanic man, about the age of 20, about 6 feet, 2 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a red, cloth facial mask and a hat. The vehicle stolen is a 2000 Lincoln sedan with a Colorado Honorably Discharged license plate 274-CBF.

The suspect is armed and dangerous, police said.

Anyone who sees the vehicle, or has information on the incident, is asked to call 911.
