A young girl died Friday night after sliding under a truck that was towing her in a sled along a snow-packed road in Park County, .

The driver, identified by the State Patrol as Roberto Jaramillo Herrera of Forney, Texas, was pulling four sleds on the back of a 2018 Ford F250 pickup heading east on Park County Road 60 near U.S. 285. One of the children fell off the sled and Jaramillo Herrera brought the truck to a stop.

But an 11-year-old girl in another sled was unable to stop in time and went under the rear of the pickup, striking the undercarriage and suffering fatal injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Alcohol and drug use are not suspected as contributing factors, and the accident remains under investigation and no charges have been filed, according to the CSP.
