Different view on Trump
Re: “Praise for President Trump’s tenure,” Dec. 27 letter to the editor
The letter praising Trump spotlighted how great it is that we live in a country that allows us to express our opinions for everyone to read. The letter writer certainly has bought into the message of Trump Inc. His obvious acumen inspired me to put myself out there too. The letter writer may be interested in a little bridge I have to sell.

The inclusion of this letter proves two things: The Post is open-minded; and some of us can watch a devastating train wreck and find beauty in the crumpled wreckage.

Make way for a third party
Re: “Trumpism will live on long after Jan. 20,” Dec. 27 letter to the editor
The letter writer says, “he (Trump) will announce that he is forming a new political party.”
Well, I’ve been telling people for years and even writing letters to The Denver Post, the same thing. Not necessarily Trump; but, that we need a viable third party; name it whatever you want.
I keep telling everyone that the big advantage of having a third party is that no one party can control the whole government, whether state or federal; it would take the cooperation of two parties to pass laws.
We’ve had more gridlock in both state and federal governments in the past 25-30 years that has hampered getting things done in a timely manner, if anything gets passed at all! I can see it happening again in the next session in 2021. My suggestion years ago was that the country’s billionaires and multi-millionaires put their money to good use and finance a new third party for the good of the country.

Raising funds for Trump
The media should stop reporting President Trump’s fruitless attempts to overturn the election. Each time he steps up to the podium and complains about widespread voter fraud and claims “I WON,” the contributions come pouring in. He is ignorant about elections but not about money, especially how to take it from his followers and put it into his own pockets.

Urge Polis to work with us
Along with many other people that I know, I make my living in the retail coffee industry.
Many of us are barely holding on to our businesses, let alone our employees.
I urge Gov. Polis to look at the restrictions in place and work with those of us in the industry trying to stay afloat and try to adjust them to soften the burden on our shoulders. The weight is becoming unbearable.
We don’t want to close down permanently but that is soon going to be our only option. I hope the governor can work with us to see what we can come up with.
