
Friday’s upcoming game between the Nuggets and Hornets has been postponed, the NBA announced on Tuesday morning, citing ongoing contact tracing stemming from the San Antonio-Charlotte game on Sunday.
In an effort to maximize days for Denver’s first-half schedule, the NBA later announced the Nuggets would travel to Cleveland to play the Cavaliers on Friday instead. The game, originally targeted for the second half of the season, will instead take place this week.
The Spurs’ upcoming three games are all postponed along with the Hornets’ next two games after four Spurs players tested positive for COVID-19, the league announced.
The Nuggets (15-11) begin their East Coast swing on Tuesday night in Boston. They’ll face Washington on Wednesday before heading to Cleveland for Friday’s game. The road trip will end Sunday in Atlanta.
The extended break, which will no longer happen, would’ve marked the only time before the All-Star break that Denver would have had conseuctive days off.
