Three dogs loose in Commerce City attacked several people Wednesday morning, and the dogs have been captured and impounded.
Police responded at about 9:45 a.m. to the 6500 block of Kearney Street on a report of dogs biting people in the area, according to a news release.
“Three mixed-breed dogs were identified as dogs who had bitten victims,” police said. “All three animals have been taken into custody by Community Service Officers (Animal Control) and impounded.”
Injuries suffered by victims are not life-threatening, police said. One victim was taken to a local hospital.
Investigators are trying to determine who owns the dogs as part of an ongoing investigation. The animals will be checked for rabies and other disease. No animals were injured and there is no further threat to the public in the area, police said.
