On the mound: Before departing the game in the third inning with a shoulder injury, lefty Kyle Freeland gave up two runs on two hits and struck out three. … Righty Carlos Estevez has had a rocky spring and he ran into big trouble in the fifth when the A’s jammed the bases with two hits and a walk. Estevez, however, escaped the traffic jam by striking out Chad Pinder, looking, on a full count.

At the plate: Josh Fuentes started at third base and went 1-for-3 with a triple. His 22 total bases rank second on the club behind first baseman C.J. Cron (25). Catcher Dom Nunez went 1-for-3 with a double and he’s batting .357 (10-for-28) with one double, one triple and two home runs in 13 Cactus League games.

Worth noting: The Rockies struck out 12 times overall, with Oakland right-hander Daulton Jefferies striking out seven over four scoreless innings. Colorado struck out four times looking vs. Jeffries.
