
A stabbing at an RTD light rail station serving the Auraria Campus on Tuesday afternoon forced a campus lockdown and a warning posted by security officials.

At about 4:05 p.m., Denver police responded to the Auraria West Campus, Fifth and Curtis streets, on a stabbing, said Doug Schepman, a police spokesman.
The victim, a man, was taken to a local hospital, Schepman said. Auraria, home to Metropolitan State University of Denver, University of Colorado Denver, and Denver Community College, has a campus police department.
At about 4:45 p.m., Denver police said that a juvenile suspect is in custody and that the lockdown has been lifted.
The incident started aboard an RTD light-rail train, police said.
