The Broncos on Wednesday acquired Panthers quarterback Teddy Bridgewater for a sixth-round pick in this week’s NFL draft.
Bridgewater, 28, completed 69.1% of his passes last season for 3,733 yards, 15 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 15 games for Carolina. The Panthers went 4-11 in his starts.
He joins Drew Lock, Jeff Driskel and Brett Rypien as the Broncos’ quarterbacks under contract.
Here’s a look at how the world of Twitter reacted to the trade:

The 49ers aren’t drafting Mac Jones. Another sign as the Broncos trade for their backup plan because Fields and Lance are gone.

Teddy Bridgewater is going to be a great backup to Justin Fields

Welcome to Teddy Bridgewater! Good luck and I hope you have a fantastic career here in Denver

The only thing I know for sure about Teddy Bridgewater is that he’d make an excellent protagonist in a children’s book about overcoming fear and making friends

If Teddy Bridgewater keeps you from looking at quarterback early in the NFL Draft I would suggest you should not be the person making decisions like that lmao
It's a floor raising move. Should not keep you from considering QB if right circumstances arise in any way.

I didn't watch a ton of the Panthers last year but it seems fascinating that Carolina was fed up enough to trade 3 draft picks for arguably the worst starter in 2020, pay Teddy Bridgewater 7M to kick rocks and eat all that dead money.

How does Teddy Bridgewater feel about being traded to the Broncos? From his IG:

Case Keenum. Joe Flacco. Teddy Bridgewater. The Broncos always know what they're doing.

Thoughts on the Broncos agreeing to trade for Teddy Bridgewater:
1. At worst, Teddy is a high-level backup. He was 5-0 as New Orleans' starter in 2019. As we know from 2015, a good backup can save your season. That's worth a sixth-round pick.

Teddy Bridgewater is exactly what Denver needs …
… to light a fire under Drew Lock's ass and build him up as the millenial Ryan Fitzpatrick he was born to be
