The Bolder Boulder became Colorado’s biggest Memorial Day tradition decades ago and has been touted as the nation’s largest Memorial Day commemoration, nearly filling the University of Colorado’s Folsom Field annually for post-race ceremonies honoring the nation’s war dead. It passed the 40,000-mark for finishers in 2000 and surpassed that every year since then until last year, when the race had to be canceled due to the pandemic.

- Greenland Open Space Trail, Douglas County, natural surface
- Firestone Regional Sports Complex, Firestone, paved
- The Ranch, Loveland, cross-country trails

Bolder Boulder race officials are hopeful that the Fortitude 10K Labor Day race in Fort Collins, which they also organize, will be run as usual in September. They also expect the Bolder Boulder to be back next year.
