The Larimer County Coroner has identified 66-year-old William Sater of Loveland as the man who died in a skiing accident at Rocky Mountain National Park June 13.
According to a release from the coroner, Sater’s death was ruled as an accident. He died from blunt force injuries due to the accident.
Sater was skiing alone in the area of Sundance Mountain in Rocky Mountain National Park June 13. Bystanders witnessed his 400- to 500-foot uncontrolled slide onto rocks; they tried to render aid after the slide but Sater died from his injuries.
His body was flown by Northern Colorado Interagency Helitak to a helispot in the Upper Beaver Meadows area of the park later that day.
