Two miles southwest of Denver’s historic Highlands neighborhood thatap become so pricey now, the bordering area that eventually was to become the city of Lakewood has a more rural character—still showing some older farm-type houses, mixed with later homes that arrived in the 1940s and 1950s.

Broker/owner Jack Fine with Jack Fine Properties has a rare, newer custom ranch coming on the market there this weekend, created for an empty site in 2015.

With three bedrooms, three baths, and 3,586 sq. feet of finished space, Fine’s listing at 5730 W. 8th Avenue, at $795,000, is a big value on space compared to what new product runs in Highlands and Sloan’s Lake. It also has a larger-than-quarter-acre site, with a large deck that overlooks mature trees.

Fine, who sold this as a builder-spec to its original buyer in 2015, says some buyers prefer new construction in established areas with a more rural feel.

Sellers Nancy and Jim Solano have been fond of that, along with a location close to Light Rail and that makes for easy escapes to the mountains.

The master is very private with its own deck entry; and the basement has a guest suite and lots of recreation space, all under 10-foot ceilings hard to find on older homes.

The news and editorial staffs of The Denver Post had no role in this postap preparation.
