Born in California, Winchester moved to Colorado Springs to pursue her Olympic dream. After missing the 2016 Olympic trials due to a torn ACL and meniscus, she came roaring back in recent years. She won the U.S. Open title in 2018 and 2019, and was the world champion at 55kg after defeating Japan’s Nanami Irie in September 2019. She earned her trip to Tokyo after defeating Ronna Heaton, 7-4 and 12-2, at the Olympic trials in April.
