Lucas Kozeniesky, Colorado Springs
Specialty: 10-meter air rifle
Age: 26
This will be the second Olympics for Kozeniesky, who finished 21st in the men’s 10 meter air rifle event in 2016. But his skills have vastly improved over five years. He punched his ticket to Tokyo after matching the world record (only competition directly supervised by the International Shooting Sport Federation is recognized) and setting a national record with a score of 633.5 at the air rifle trials in February 2020. He topped that score in April, shooting a 634.7 during a USA Shooting-sanctioned preliminary tryout. He should be a contender for the podium: He’s ranked No. 3 in the world.
Competing: July 24-25
