Finley made his bones in the track and field world after winning gold in both shot put and discus in the 2009 Pan American Junior Championships. After three years at the University of Kansas and one year at the University of Wyoming, he left college as an eight-time All-American in the discus. Finley set a national high school record in the discus with a toss of 72.09 meters in the High Altitude Challenge in Alamosa. He placed 11th at the Rio Olympics and is heading to his second Olympic Games as a husband and soon-to-be father.
