Interstate 70 through Glenwood Canyon reopened in both directions late Saturday afternoon after flood concerns closed it for nearly two hours.
The interstate opened again in both directions around 5:20 p.m. It had closed at 3:40 p.m. after forecasted rain raised flooding fears.
Saturday’s back-and-forth followed two days of closures as a result of flooding and debris flow.
I-70 was closed overnight Thursday and all day Friday due to flooding in the canyon’s burn areas and the debris flow that followed that flooding.
eastbound/westbound: Road open between Exit 111 – South Canyon and Exit 133 – Dotsero. Glenwood Canyon OPEN following flash flood warning expiration.
