A tractor-trailer rig that caught fire on Interstate 70 forced authorities to close the road in both directions between Silverthorne and the U.S. 6 / Loveland Pass exit Wednesday afternoon, according to Colorado State Patrol.
The highway was shut down between Exits 205 and 216 because of the truck fire, which was burning on the westbound side of the highway about three miles east of the Eisenhower Tunnel.
I70 is currently shut down westbound from the Eisenhower Tunnel for a semi fire.

There was no immediate estimate for when the road would be reopened.
THIS: Blown up truck on west side of the tunnel coming down to Silverthorne. No westbound Interstate 70 traffic moving downhill from the tunnel at this time. All westbound I 70 traffic being diverted onto Loveland Pass. Jam up on wb 70 is nasty
