A winter storm Tuesday dropped enough snow on the Front Range mountain tops to get powder heads excited for ski season.
Arapahoe Basin recorded 7 inches Wednesday morning to bring its two-day total to a foot of new snow, according to spokesperson Katherine Fuller. “And it’s currently snowing!” she added.

Loveland Ski Area’s two-day snow accumulation reached 9 inches, bringing the October total to 15 inches, said spokesperson John Sellers.

While Keystone Resort is not officially recording snow totals yet, spokesperson Nicole Stull said about 4 inches fell on the resort this week.

The storm rolled through just as Arapahoe Basin, Keystone Resort and Loveland Ski Area began making snow this week in the race to see which can be first to open. So far, none has announced an opening date, but the following snow totals bode well for getting in some turns in October.
