Stretch of I-225 in Aurora reopened after fatal crash caused massive morning delays

A fatal rollover crash on Interstate 225 caused big traffic problems Thursday morning, Aurora Police said.

APD first reported the crash at 5:41 a.m. Thursday. They are still investigating how it happened, but one man was killed.

The closure associated with the crash was on the northbound side of the highway from Alameda Avenue to 6th Avenue, where the collision took place. Officials reopened the road before 8:30 a.m.

The crash impacted a critical stretch of road for those in the Aurora area or going to Denver International Airport.
