To no one’s surprise, unbeaten — and largely unchallenged — Roosevelt is the top seed in the 16-team Class 3A football playoffs, according to brackets the Colorado High School Activities Association released Sunday.
The Rough Riders (10-0) will play host to No. 16 Thomas Jefferson (7-3) at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Northridge also qualified for the playoffs, as the 12th seed. The Grizzlies (7-3) make the short trip to take on No. 5 Mead (7-2) at 7 p.m. Friday.
These teams join local 1A, 2A and 4A teams that opened their playoff campaigns this past week.
Eaton is among the local teams still alive after this past week. The unbeaten Reds (10-0), the top seed in 2A, travel to Elizabeth to take on the ninth-seeded Cardinals (8-2) at 1 p.m. Saturday.
University (6-4), the 12th seed in 2A, plays host to No. 4 Delta (9-1) at 1 pm. Saturday.
Resurrection Christian (8-1), seeded second in 2A, plays host to fellow Patriot League team, seventh-seeded Brush (8-2), at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Severance (8-2), the sixth seed in 2A, will travel to Colorado Springs to take on No. 3 The Classical Academy (9-0) at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Dayspring Christian (7-3) is the seventh seed in 1A 8-man. The Eagles will play host to second-seeded Mancos (8-0) at noon Saturday.
Prairie (7-4), the eighth seed in 1A 6-man, faces a big challenge at home against No. 1 Cheyenne Wells (10-0) at 1 p.m. Saturday.
