Power restored for nearly 6,000 in Aurora, Denver Tuesday morning

5,786 customers were impacted near Smoky Hill and Buckley roads

Xcel Energy reported an outage near Smoky Hill Road and Buckley Road that is impacting 5,786 customers Tuesday morning.

The outage was first reported at 7:27 a.m. and lasted a little over an hour.

There were still 2,681 without power near Smoky Hill Road and Parker Road for a while later but their power was restored about 90 minutes after the outage began.

There is a crew in the area still working, according to the electricity provider.

They say some people in Aurora, Centennial and Denver had lost power.

Snow is falling across Colorado and the strongest part of the storm is moving through Denver around 8 a.m.
