An inmate in the El Paso County jail was found dead Thursday afternoon inside her cell.
The inmate was found unconscious and emergency responders from the Colorado Springs Fire Department, American Medical Response and sheriff’s office staff rendered medical aid on scene to no avail, according to a news release.
She was not identified on Thursday. An investigation is ongoing and the El Paso County Coroner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death, as well as release the woman’s identity after family has been notified.
