Two pedestrians died Friday night after being hit by vehicles on East Colfax Avenue in Aurora, police said.
Aurora police said it appears one person was hit while crossing Colfax, that vehicle stayed on the scene. APD said there might have been another vehicle that was involved that left the scene.
The second individual involved stopped to help but was then hit by another vehicle. That vehicle also stayed at the scene after the accident.
After being transported to the hospital, the second person has been pronounced deceased, APD said via Twitter.

The incident happened at Colfax and Uvalda Street, police said in an 8:06 p.m. tweet. Lanes on Colfax were shut down in the area. An investigation is ongoing.
